GPRO: Green Professional Building Skills Training is a series of courses and certificate exams developed by Urban Green Council, the NY chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, to teach the people who build, renovate, and maintain buildings the principles of sustainability combined with trade-specific green construction knowledge.

Only 2 classes and an exam get you a GPRO Certificate that will demonstrate your understanding of green building principles and will enhance your ability to compete for green jobs.

Led by industry experts using real-life classroom exercises, GPRO Fundamentals + Operations & Maintenance (O&M) provides building professionals with the critical tools to transition from conventional to sustainable operations. 

This course is ideal for a range of employees including building superintendents, operators, managers, and operating and stationary engineers. The types of buildings addressed include multifamily residential, high-rise commercial, and industrial buildings.

Part I: Fundamentals of Building Green

Develop a better understanding of sustainability, the components of green building, LEED, and the construction practices that make new and existing buildings more efficient, healthier and higher performing.    

Part II: Operations & Maintenance Essentials

Learn sustainable operations topics such as the Building Envelope, Water Use, Heating & Cooling, Lighting, Indoor Air Quality, Dealing with Waste, and Commissioning & Energy Audits.
